Three key fixtures that could define Tottenham’s season between now and the New Year

Manchester United (A) Sunday 11th December

A trip to Old Trafford is never going to be a walk in the park. Sure, United are nowhere near the force they used to be, but stepping out at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ does make some players go into their shells. Spurs’ historic record at Old Trafford isn’t brilliant either, although that is gradually improving. Spurs won by the odd goal in 2014 and 2012, but before that hadn’t won in the red half of Manchester since 1989. With this fixture being just over a month away, and crucially before the January transfer window, Spurs will aim to seize upon Jose’s less than impressive start to life as a Red Devil – who before beating Swansea, had not won in the league since September 24th. In what is (currently) 5th vs 6th, expect Spurs to fancy their chances.
