Three key fixtures that could define Tottenham’s season between now and the New Year
Chelsea (A) Saturday 26th November
One of numerous London derbies in the Premier League, this one has a bit of an added kick, considering both Conte’s and Pochettino’s sides are considered title contenders. At the time of writing, in the international break, Chelsea are second to Liverpool in the Premier League table, and have made a real statement of intent in their last three league games – beating Everton 5-0, Manchester United 4-0 and Southampton 2-0. Conte’s men are in red hot form, and with home advantage (which will be a common theme in this piece) at Stamford Bridge, present a tall order for a Spurs side, who are not quite yet firing on all cylinders. Being perhaps overly cautious, I would usually suggest an away point at the Bridge would be a good return for the Lilywhites. And it would. However, if Spurs really want to properly kick on, they must be ambitious and target three points in west London.
