Neil Lennon has endured an enormously difficult first half to Celtic’s 2020-21 campaign with the Hoops sitting 16 points behind Celtic – though the Hoops do have three games in hand. January, for Celtic, could be key.
Here are three players recently linked with a move to Celtic that Lennon could decide to sign in the upcoming window to help get his side’s pursuit of 10 in a row back on track:
James McCarthy

Celtic could do with additions in numerous positions, most notably in goal, centre-back, right-back and out wide. So a move for a central midfielder in Crystal Palace’s James McCarthy might be one that is not as crucial as others.
But with McCarthy being a Celtic fan, and a top talent given his 42 Ireland caps – he is a player you do not turn down if given the chance. Celtic are keen, with McCarthy failing to play a league game since November 7.
Kasper Junker

Another position Celtic are well-stocked in is up front. Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths, Patryk Klimala and Albian Ajeti are all options – but nevertheless, that Celtic want Norwegian champion Junker.
Having just first Bodo/Glimt to their first ever Norwegian league title, Celtic are said to be rivalling West Brom for the striker with the player having scored 27 goals in 25 league games – and laying on 11 assists. Incredible stats.
Phil Jones
Arguably the player Celtic need most in this list. A central defender, Jones has been cast aside at Manchester United by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The 28-year-old England international is not even in the club’s 25-man league squad.
Celtic and a whole host of Premier League clubs, including Leicester, Newcastle and West Ham, are interested. A loan could be a possibility for Celtic, given he earns £75,000 a week ().
