Thomas Tuchel’s previous comments about Man United’s Mason Mount show he feels about him as he becomes England boss

It’s fair to say that Mason Mount’s story at Manchester United thus far has been a frustrating one, the midfielder was meant to be a key figure at Old Trafford.

Instead, Mount has only played for Man United 25 times as a reꦆsult of a series of frustrating injuries.💛

First and foremost, Mount suffered from a calf issue which completely halted his progress under Erik ten Hag la🧔st season.

In truth, the England international was struggling to find his f💛eet at the club even before his injuries, but they then temporarily killed any chance he had to improve his form.

That being said, perhaps Tuchel’s appointment at England could inspire a turnaround for Mount who’s set to returꦆn from injury again once United’s club games resume.

Mason Mount could revive his England career under Thomas Tuchel

Mount has 36 caps and five goals fℱor England, a total he’s not currently close to adding to.

However, should the midfielder improve at United, it would seem that Tuchel would be very♏ keen to return the 25-year-old to the England fold.

Speaking back in 2021 when the pair were a🍎t Chelsea together, Tuchel was incredibly complimentary about Mount, saying he had a brilliant attitude to succeed.

Tuchel said: “He has the full package. Mentally, in terms of talent and physically and the most important part is his character, he has his feet onꦚ tꦓhe ground and he’s a nice guy.

“He comes to Cobham every day to🍃 learn something new and have neꦓw experiences.

“It’s a pleasure to have him, be at his side and guide him and support him. It’s impressive, he’s not affec♊ted by all the praise. T🌟his is maybe the most important part.

“He seems to be a guy who likes the sport and feels an obli💟gation to make the most out of it and he wants it absolutely badly, so it’s a top mix.”

Marcus Rashford also out to impress Thomas Tuchel

Of course, it’s not just Mount at Old Trafford who will be hoping to impress th🐼e new England boss.

Marcus Rashford may also be hoping that a change in management revives h😼is chances of playing for his country.

Rashford hasꦜ shown glimpses of improvement in recent months, a player who still has so much potential to improve.

Incidental🌞ly, Tuchel also praised Rashford back in 2020, saying he was a tremendous person before then complimenting his footballing ability to🐻o.

Tuchel said: “For me person⛎ally, the sporting side is clear – he’s a big threat with his speed, with his ability to score, with his determination and his finishing. He’s very precise, taki𝔉ng shots inside and outside of the box.

“Heℱ is super rapid on counter-attacks and strong in the air with headers. He’s had a big impact and it’s nice to see guys like him from the academy having such a big impact in a big, big club like United.”
