Thomas Tuchel delivers verdict on Antonio Conte, and his move to Tottenham
on Antonio Conte joining Tottenham, an ex-Chelsea boss – and laughed off the thought of him managing Spurs.
Conte, 52, has joined Tottenham after winning the Premier League title at Chelsea in 2016-17. Jose Mourinho had two Chelsea spells, before Spurs.
The Italian gaffer is seen as a massive coup by pundits and fans alike – with Tottenham winning in his first game. A 3-2 win over Vitesse Arnhem.
But there is plenty of work for Conte to do – and he has little time to do it in. He has had to prepare for two games in five days as Tottenham boss.

Then, the international break kicks in, and the majority of the Spurs squad will be jetting off to represent their countries. Conte has requested time.
Tuchel was asked about the appointment of Conte and he believes the Italian will make Tottenham ‘super tough’. He laughed off managing Spurs.
“I have enough to do here, I am happy with here!” , when asked about Spurs. “Of course it is good news for the Premier League.
“He is one of the best managers in the world, look at his record, his titles. He will make it super tough to play against Tottenham I am sure.”

Tuchel on Conte: Can Tottenham gaffer catch his old club Chelsea?
Yes. Lets not forget, Spurs have a brilliant squad – two international players for every position. The squad has cost a lot of money to put together.
But the issue for Conte is that so many of those established players are out of form. Harry Kane, most notably, has just one league goal all season.
Combine that with the likes of Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele, Matt Doherty, Tanguy Ndombele, Eric Dier and others.
None of those are even close to their best form. Conte needs to install some confidence and the best way to do that, is to get some wins under the belt.
