Thomas Meunier’s previous comments suggest he would be open to Everton transfer
in France, Everton are once again tracking the Belgian international defender Thomas Meunier.
Meunier is out of contract in the summer and Everton are ready to battle both Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid for his signature, according to the report.
This news is hardly surprising. Everton have been linked with Meunier before. Last January, Everton were also linked. Everton were considering asking for Meunier as a part of any deal involving Idrissa Gana Gueye. The previous summer, with Meunier struggling to hold down his regular spot at PSG, Everton were also being linked.

It was a move Meunier was open to, as he himself explained in an
“Going down a notch, what does that mean?,”
“It is playing for a club in the style of Everton, Valencia or Dortmund? (Belgium team-mate) Michy Batshuayi made a very good choice by going there (Dortmund).
“The fun is playing football and that’s what I’m missing right now.”
So it seems Everton need to give Meunier an offer where he can go on to enjoy his football again.
That will undoubtedly involve him being the number one choice at right-back, a position where Everton are currently sound. Seamus Coleman remains a reliable option, Djibril Sidibe has an affordable purchase option in his loan deal whilst Jonjoe Kenny is thriving out on loan at Schalke. Even Mason Holgate is comfortable playing at full-back.
So Meunier might weigh all that up and decide he might not have as much ‘fun’ as Everton, battling for the right-back slot, as he would elsewhere this summer.
