Thomas Meunier comments gives Tottenham hope in reported transfer chase
Thomas Meunier has recently been linked with a host of clubs. The PSG defender is out of contract in the summer and that Tottenham Hotspur and on his potential signature.
However, any hope either Premier League side had of signing Meunier appeared to disappear as soon as it emerged. , Meunier had agreed a deal to join Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

It seemed Meunier was on his way to Germany, much to the disappointment of Tottenham in particular. The Belgian would have been a crucial addition in Tottenham’s problem right-back slot.
However, Tottenham could still have hope, even if Meunier has cast doubt on the London club’s reported interest. the 40-cap international rubbished claims he has agreed to join Dortmund.
“A free, international player, who plays in the FIFA ranked world’s number one team (Belgium) and who is 28 years old, it cannot be a bad buy, even if I get gangrene and I have to cut off a leg!
“Clubs don’t have much to lose in the investment, and I think they know it. They have everything to gain. Everything that circulates on me on social media versus Dortmund, I don’t understand: I’ve seen so many articles linking me to Tottenham or Inter. I don’t understand this craze. My main objective is always to stay in Paris, but for the moment it’s pretty calm.”
It is clear that Meunier could decide to sign a new contract at PSG this summer, and therefore fall off the free agency list.
But the fact there is no agreement between Meunier and Dortmund should give Tottenham the hope they need to go back in for the right-back.
The fact he would be a free transfer also helps matters. PSG were valuing Meunier at £26 million just 12 months ago.
Spurs desperately need to reinforce the right-back position, with Serge Aurier proving a liability and no replacement arriving for Kieran Trippier after his move to Atletico Madrid.
Meunier might just be the perfect man for the job.
