Thomas Frank admits he ‘can’t imagine’ a tougher away trip than Elland Road after Leeds United loss

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has admitted his side’s away day at Leeds United last night is unlikely to be matched this season.

Leeds United claimed a 1-0 win against the London-side courtesy of Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah’s tap-in finish in the second half.

It was a result that reflected Leeds United’s dominance and ended a poor run of results at home for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

, Frank admitted that he cannot see his team playing at a more intimidating crowd than the one at Elland Road last night.

“Second half, they put more pressure on us and we were not good enough to keep the ball. We had big desire defending, good organisation and a high line.

“We got through the most stormy parts of the second half and you thought our opportunities would start to come. And then they scored a goal.

“I can’t imagine, going forward, a more difficult away ground to go to than this one.”

TBR’s View

For a long time during Leeds’ dark days, it seemed the pressure of playing at home hindered the players.

Many outsiders threw that acquisition at Leeds again toward the end of last season, especially after the play-off loss to Derby County.

However, when Leeds’ players thrive off the atmosphere at Elland Road there is no doubt they are a force to be reckoned with at home.

Leeds fans will hope they can go on a winning spree on home ground from this point.
