Thomas Christiansen and Micah Richards send Instagram messages to one Leeds player

Kalvin Phillips clocked up his 200th appearance for Leeds United in all competitions on Monday evening as the Whites eased past Crystal Palace at Elland Road – and both Thomas Christiansen and Micah Richards have responded on social media.

Still only 24, England international Phillips already has a double century of games under his belt in the colours of Leeds. The midfielder has been on fire for the Whites, becoming pivotal since Marcelo Bielsa changed him into a holding midfielder.

On Monday, Phillips starred once again – something that has become the norm. He was excellent as the pivot in midfield, as goals from Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford saw Leeds beat Palace 2-0 and climb above Arsenal into the top half of the table.

Phillips posted on Instagram twice after completing his 200th appearance – which ended by trudging off the pitch towards the end of the match and being replaced by Jamie Shackleton. He posted a video, and then a message to fans on Instagram.

His performances have certainly caught the attention. Phillips is expected to be a part of the England side that look to win Euro 2021 this summer under Gareth Southgate, while Liverpool and Spurs want the £50million-rated star.

Christiansen, who was in charge at Leeds the season before Bielsa arrived and is currently the manager of Panama, responded to his video by predicting Phillips to make many more. Richards reacted to his second post.
