‘This one is close’: Sky reporter claims Everton about to land £120k-a-week player who’s ‘close to perfect’
Everton are reportedly close to landing Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek on loan.
reported on Monday morning that the Red Devils ace was undergoing a medical with the Toffees.
Everton will reportedly be paying Van de Beek’s full wages.

In addition, the deal will be a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy.
On Monday evening, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth provided an update on Van de Beek to Everton.
“This one is close,” said Sheth (). “It will be a straight loan until the end of the season.
“He’s been having a medical today. Everton will be paying his full wages.
“This could work out well for Manchester United.
“If he plays well over the next six months he will show everyone he can cut it in the Premier League.
“Then United could either add him to their plans or his valuation could go up in the summer.”
Later on (), Vinny O’Connor added : “An announcement with regards Donny van de Beek coming in on loan is expected soon.
“We await developments over whether there will be one other signing in addition to these at Everton.
“We know they’re also in the market for a defensive midfielder and a defender.”
Van de Beek joined the Red Devils to much fanfare in a £39million move from Ajax in 2020.
However, he has been a largely peripheral figure under both Ralf Rangnick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
This is despite a goalscoring debut for the club, which incidentally came against Palace.
Van de Beek has had just 380 minutes of action this season.
And he has not started a game in the Premier League this term.

“He is so unselfish”
Nonetheless, Van de Beek has delivered some great displays, earning praise from former United players.
In November 2020, the Dutchman shone in a 4-1 Champions League win over Istanbul Basaksehir.
Speaking on BT Sport – via – Rio Ferdinand said: “I was very impressed.
“You spend £40m on a player and you want to see him make more than just cameos here and there.
“I think he is the one player in this squad who is happy playing one-touch, two-touch, keeping it simple… sacrificing parts of his game to help other people flourish.
“In any great team you need players like that and he’s one player who will make other players tick, and make them play better.”
Paul Scholes added: “Some of the one-touch, two-touch play in the first-half was excellent.”
And Owen Hargreaves said: “I thought Van de Beek was close to perfect.
“He is so unselfish, he can just fit in and play the right balls everywhere.”
