‘This isn’t me being bitter’: Wilshere says Arsenal made a big mistake in 2018
Jack Wilshere has claimed that Arsenal were wrong to ap♒point Unai Emery as Arsene Wenger’s successor in the summer of 2018.
The Gunners parted ways with the legendary Frenchman after 22 long yearꦏs. It was always going to be difficult to replace a manager like Wenger, but Arsenal messed it up by going for Emery, whose philosophy was completely different to his predecessor’s.
Arsenal, predictably, struggled and Emery was shown the doo𒀰r a little under 18 months after he was appointed. W🀅ilshere has now had his say about the Gunners’ decision to appoint him in the first place, and he believes it was the wrong one.

The Englishman told : “💦There was a big change when Arsene [Wenger] left. This isn’t me being bitter because Unai told me I could leave. But, I don’t think he was the right man.
“You look at the teams he’s been at and he wa💟nts to set up a low block counter-at🐈tack and that wasn’t the way Arsenal or the players they had were set up to play.
💦“I don’t think he was the right ♛man but now they’re on the right path.
꧋“There was always going to be a dip when Arsene left because it’s so much change so quickly – he controlled everything. But now, they seem to be building slowly and getting back to where they should be.🌊”

Unai Emery is by no means a bad manager. He is one of the most successful coaches over the last decade and most clubs in the world would be lucky to ha🎃ve him as their boss.
However, he just wasn’t the right fit foඣr Arsenal.
The Gunners were renowned around the globe for playing beautiful, attacking football. Wenger almost always insisted that his side controlled the g💎ame and dominated the possession – irrespective of who they played against.
Under Emery, the approach was completely different. Arsenal fans were forced to see a low block against teams like Cr🍰ystal Palace and Burnley, which often backfired. That’s the reaಞson why the Spaniard lost his job and Wilshere’s right, he was the wrong choice for the Gunners.
