It would be an understatement to say that Antonio Conte is frustrated with life at Tottenham Hotspur now.

The Spurs boss saw his side suffer a fourth defeat in the Premier League in five games last night after Ben Mee scored the winner for Burnley in the 71st minute.

Conte was furious after the game, not just because of the defeat yesterday, but due to the way things have gone for him at Tottenham over the last 30 days.

The Italian didn’t hide anything in his press conference last night. He made his feelings known to everyone and even went on to claim that people should stop speaking about Tottenham in the top-four race as they’ve to be careful not to drop down to the relegation zone.

Conte: Tottenham must be careful about dropping down to the relegation zone

The Spurs manager said in his press conference after the game, as per : “I don’t want to comment on the game. I wasn’t to comment only on the situation. In the last five games, we lost four times. This is the reality. Not performance, not space, no space.

“The reality is this. That we lost four games of the last five. No one deserves this type of situation – the club, me, the players and fans, but this is the reality.

“Someone has to speak about the race for the fourth place, and the reality from the last five games is we have to pay attention to not fight for the relegation zone.

“This is the truth. this is the reality, and when this type of situation happens, maybe there is something wrong.”

TBR View:

Football is a funny game and anything can happen, but we can confidently say that Tottenham will not get relegated this season.

However, four defeats in the last five games is what you’d expect from a team who are set to go down and that is not a good look for a club as big as Tottenham.

Conte was viewed by Spurs fans as their saviour and the Italian’s CV certainly backs that view. However, it now looks like even he’s set to give up, which would be terrible for Tottenham ahead of the business end of the season.

If Conte walks away in the coming days, Tottenham could end up in real trouble.
