‘This is ridiculous’: Arsenal fans respond as Granit Xhaka gets team of the season nod

Arsenal fans have been responding in their droves after hearing Granit Xhaka was selected in the CIES team of the season today.

The Gunners midfielder, who was signed by Arsene Wenger for around £ back in 2016, has often been the one to come under fire when things go badly for Arsenal.

However, in fairness to him, he has stuck to his task and has, at times, looked a more than capable Premier League player.

But it’s also surprising to see him included in a best XI for the season, especially when there is so much quality at other teams.

Arsenal fans, then, were similarly surprised at the news and took to Twitter to discuss just how Xhaka had been given the nod.

Unsurprisingly, there wasn’t too many Gunners fans who expected to see this news today and some of the responses sum that feeling up perfectly.

He single handedly cost us 7 points this season. This is ridiculous hah
