Thierry Henry says Arsenal have a player in their ranks who can become just like Yaya Toure
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has suggested that Gunners midfielder Declan Rice has what it takes to become just like Yaya Toure.
The Arsenal icon, speaking on after the 6-0 win at Sheffield United, spoke about how both players have been adding goals to their game.
Rice has been a revelation since joining Arsenal from West Ham in a deal reportedly worth £105million.
The 25-year-old wasn’t much of a goalscorer earlier on in his career, but over the past few years, he has been adding goals to his game.
On Monday night, Rice scored Arsenal’s fifth goal of the night, sweeping home in the 39th minute after being assisted by Bukayo Saka.

Last term, in Rice’s last campaign at the London Stadium, he managed five goals in 50 appearances in all competitions.
This season, the Arsenal star is on four goals from 36 outings, so he’s very much on course to beat last term’s tally.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry discusses Yaya Toure adding goals to his game
Henry spoke about Rice adding goals after previously not adding them in his game, naming Toure as a classic example of a midfielder who added this extra string to his bow.
“Do you know the best example of that? It’s Yaya Toure,” said Henry.
“For a long time at Barcelona he had to cover Iniesta and Xavi. That was his job, so he didn’t come with a lot of goals or assists and what we saw of him.
“At City he played higher and suddenly the goals came!”
Rice has been so much of a revelation at Arsenal that he’s making the £105million transfer fee seem like a bargain.
He has been virtually flawless for the Gunners since his move, and for him to add goals to his repertoire would just be the cherry on top.
Toure was a legend for Barcelona, Manchester City and Ivory Coast. For Rice to hit those heights at Arsenal and for England would be something spectacular.
