Thierry Henry says Arsenal have a defender who’s so difficult to play against
Thierry Henry has delivered his verdict on one Arsenal player after watching him in action.
The legendary Frenchman has played with and against some truly incredible footballers. He’s a coach now as well, so he knows a brilliant player when he sees one.
Now, Henry has had his say on one Arsenal player, and the Gunners legend believes he was the best in his position in the entire Premier League in the 2023/24 season.

William Saliba was one of Arsenal’s best players in the 2023/24 campaign.
The France international played every minute of every game in the Premier League last term, becoming the first Arsenal player to do so since the competition began.
Saliba was absolutely incredible and played a massive part in helping the Gunners maintain the best defensive record in the entire Premier League.
Henry played with some great defenders at Arsenal and also came up against the best centre-halves in the world for club and country.
The legendary Frenchman got the better of almost every centre-back he came up against, but he can now see why it’s so difficult playing against Saliba.
Speaking about facing the Arsenal star in 1v1 situations, Henry said any attacker will know immediately that they’re not getting past him.
He told the : “When you’re in a 1v1 with him, you’re like ‘okay, you’re not going anywhere, big man’.
“I think this year, he was, for me, the best centre-back in the league.”

Saliba set for France disappointment
Saliba started for France in their final warm-up game against Canada.
Les Bleus were held to a 0-0 draw at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux, but the Arsenal defender had a magnificent game.
Saliba earned rave reviews from the French media for his display, but that, unfortunately for him, is unlikely to be enough to get him a starting spot at the Euros.
have revealed that Saliba has failed to dislodge Ibrahima Konate and Dayot Upamecano to be a part of France’s first-choice central defensive pairing at the Euros.
That is a real shame as the Arsenal man was better than both those defenders in the 2023/24 season.
