Thierry Henry says 25-year-old player who’s reportedly been looking into Arsenal move is ‘ridiculous’

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has now been discussing the ability and potential of a player who was said to be keen on a North London move.

Henry, who knows a thing or two about scoring goals, will have absolutely loved watching his old side of late.

Mikel Arteta now seems to have found the perfect balance between defensive security and attacking flair, and his team are looking quite formidable.

Perhaps fans shouldn’t get too carried away after such a win against Sheffield United, who are struggling, but Arsenal also inflicted the same fate on West Ham United and Burnley.

It’s been a remarkable period for The Gunners, and talk of the club being desperate for a striker in January has quickly dissipated.

That being said, it’s certainly not impossible that Arteta will ignite a striker search in the summer, in fact it’s looking quite likely.

And with that being said Thierry Henry was discussing a striker who was said to be keen on an Arsenal move on yesterday evening.

And although Kylian Mbappe does now look Real Madrid bound, a deal isn’t quite concluded yet.

Thierry Henry shares admiration for Kylian Mbappe after striker said to be keen on Arsenal

When it became clear that Mbappe would leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, it was reported that he liked the idea of moving to Arsenal.

Of course, Mikel Arteta then refused to dismiss the idea, asking why Arsenal couldn’t make such a signing.

And whilst a deal looks very unlikely, Henry would certainly seem keen for Arsenal to chase the striker.

He said: “When the guy goes to a World Cup, goes to a final, he plays two World Cups and he’s been in two finals.

“He scored a hat-trick in the final. He already scored four goals in the finals of World Cups.

“How long has he been playing? It’s just ridiculous. The sky’s the limit for him.”

That being said, Real Madrid will prove to be an incredibly hard team to beat next season if Mbappe does head to Spain, the kind of opposition Arsenal will soon hope to compete with.

And given Mbappe doesn’t seem likely to head to North London any time soon, it will be intriguing to see who Arsenal do pursue, with Fabrizio Romano now providing some insight.
