Thiago Silva gives huge praise to ‘incredible’ Liverpool star

Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva has claimed that Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino is in the top 10 forwards he’s come up against in his career.

Silva, who earns £110,000-a-week () at Stamford Bridge, currently plays for Premier League rivals Chelsea.

But the 36-year-old Brazilian has had an illustrious career where he previously shined for Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan.

Considering all the elite players he’s faced in his career, it’s extremely high praise for him to mention Firmino in the same breath as the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba.

The 29-year-old Liverpool striker has been an essential part of a side that have won both the Champions League and Premier League in the past couple of years.

He acts as a false-nine and it may help that he’s played alongside the Chelsea ace for Brazil’s national side.

Silva named the Liverpool frontman when discussing the toughest strikers he’s come up against in his career.

“Firmino, he has incredible technical quality. He is very intelligent in his movement [on the pitch] that leaves defenders a bit lost,”

TBR’s View:

Firmino may be one of the Liverpool individuals not at his dazzling best this campaign, but his talent is undeniable.

The South American attacker has proven to be a master at linking up play for the Reds in the final third, as well as being someone that defends from the front with his work-rate.

He’s scored six goals and seven assists so far this season in all competitions, but many feel his time in the XI is coming to an end.

It will be interesting to see though how he responds now that Diogo Jota is fit again.
