‘They’ll go back’: Tottenham really like ‘fearless’ 19-year-old centre-back, could make bid for him – journalist

Tottenham Hotspur could make a bid for Dynamo Kyiv defender Ilya Zabarnyi🥃 this summer, if the right opportunity comes along.

🅺“I think the key with Spurs, it’s about the opportunities, I’ve said before (Ilya) Zabarnyi, the young Ukrainian centre-back is a player that they really like, and he’s someone they’ll go back to if the window of opportunity is there for him,” he said.

ꦓ“Obviously, it’s still so rocky exactly what’s happening with Ukrainian football right now, he’s a Dynamo Kyiv player, there’s certainly attempts to get them playing again but how it works, I’d have no idea.

♏“Financially, they’ve had some really tough times of course, whether Zabarnyi is one Spurs keep an eye on, or whether they do go for a bigger name.

“I think they’ll look at another centre-back either way, maybe even if (Japhet) Tanganga🐬 doesn’t go and I imagine maybe he will, just to get some football out of him and there are a fair few Italian clubs interested in him.”

Tottenham could make Zabarnyi bid

ꦍIt’s an exciting update for Spurs fans who have already seen manager Antonio Conte oversee a small revolution in the squad this summer, with plenty of potential business still to be done.

Much of this business will be outgoings, with Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele two players who look set to leave the club.

As Gold mentions, Tanganga is another player who could be on his way out, ❀with former manager Jose Mourinho one person keen on signing the 23-year-old.

𒀰Spurs look set to sign another young defender as well, with Destiny Udogie🦩 likely to join the club and then immediately return to Udinese on loan.

𒀰Although Zabarnyi is still a teenager, he’s already made a serious impact in Ukraine.

has already been capped 20 times by Ukraine, and played against Juventus, Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

🌸Zabarnyi was also the youngest defender to play at last year’s European Championships and clearly has a big future ahead of him.

🍰Although there’s plenty of uncertainty about his short-term future at club level, if Tottenham get the chance to bring in the 19-year-old, it would make perfect sense to take it.
