‘They think he’s a bit underrated’… Fabrizio Romano says Spurs think £15m player isn’t rated highly enough
Destiny Udogie has just signed a new contract with Tottenham.
The Italian has put pen to paper to extend his stay in north London for the long-term, and it’s fair to say that Tottenham are happy with their business here.
Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on , Spurs are more than happy with Udogie and his development, going as far as to say that Tottenham think the left-back is actually a bit underrated in the media right now.
Tottenham think Udogie is underrated
Romano shared what he knows about the defender.
“Yeah it’s done. Everything is signed. Destiny Udogie signed his new contract at Tottenham, he’s doing very well, they are super happy with him, they think he’s a bit underrated in the media what Destiny Udogie is doing in his first season in the Premier League,” Romano said.
Udogie is underrated
Tottenham reckon Udogie is a bit underrated, and we’re inclined to agree.
Perhaps it’s because he was signed last summer so the spotlight hasn’t been on him as much this season, but make no mistake about it, he’s been one of the brightest new talents in the Premier League this season.
The fact that Tottenham have signed him to a new deal after just half a season in the Premier League tells you all you need to know. This is a young player who looks to have an incredibly bright future, and he’s already making his mark.
You’d be hard-pressed to find a left-back in the league who has been better than Udogie this season, and at the age of just 21, he has so much room to still grow and improve.
Tottenham’s recruitment in recent years has been quite hit and miss, but Udogie has undoubtedly been one of the best signings they’ve made in this period.
Spurs are very lucky to have the Italian, and after signing his new deal, he’s here to stay.
