‘They showed me’: Conte absolutely loved what Tottenham stars did right after Bergwijn’s first goal last night

Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to beat Leicester City in the final two minutes of the game at the King Power Stadium last night and Antonio Conte was a happy man.
Harry Kane equalised in the first half after Patson Daka gave the hosts a lead against the run of play. James Maddison’s goal pushed the Foxes 2-1 up in the 76th minute and it really did look like Leicester would hold onto their lead from that point.
However, substitute Steven Bergwijn stepped up to score twice in the last two minutes of the game to complete a truly remarkable comeback.
Conte was absolutely delighted with his side’s display and the Italian noticed something after Bergwijn’s first goal that really pleased him.
Conte loved what Tottenham players did after Bergwijn’s first goal
Right after Bergwijn equalised in the 95th minute, Tottenham’s players picked the ball up and rushed back to restart the game instead of celebrating. Conte admitted after the game that he absolutely loved that attitude.
The Italian said, as per : “I think it was an amazing game. Honestly, we didn’t deserve to lose the game and also we didn’t deserve to draw because we created many chances and in many circumstances we were unlucky.
“To arrive in added time losing 2-1 was honestly a great, great disappointment. At the end, my players showed great resilience, great desire. Don’t give up. This must be our philosophy, don’t give up and fight until the end.
“They showed me great desire. When we had equalised, we got the ball and we wanted to restart the game and to try to win. I think it was good for me to see this type of attitude from my players.”

TBR View:
Tottenham really showed incredible character last night.
It was clear that they were the better side from the first minute of the game. They could’ve easily sulked after Maddison’s goal, but they didn’t give up and that helped them complete a fantastic comeback in the end.
Spurs are definitely improving under Conte and last night’s result will give them a ton of confidence ahead of their upcoming games.
If they play as well as they did last night, they will win more games than they’ll lose and that should be enough to pip Arsenal and West Ham for a place in the top-four at the end of the season.
