‘They need’… Pat Bonner tells Celtic where they need to strengthen after abysmal Hearts performance
Pat Bonner has told Celtic exactly where they need to strengthen after another defeat in the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic were weak, insipid and out of ideas as Brendan Rodgers had no answers to the questions the Edinburgh side posed this afternoon.
After going down 2-0 to two first-half goals, Celtic couldn’t even muster a hint of a fightback as they surrendered another three points.
Whilst the Celtic fans scratch their heads at how to turn this around, Bonner has told his old club exactly what they need to do to strengthen the team.
Bonner said [], “I think the others are put in there, maybe, because he’s building up his argument and maybe to go to the board. And the January window is not going to be an easy wonder to bring in what he talked about.
“I think they need about three or four, I think, at least three top stars. Up front, I think midfield also, and maybe, they’ve got plenty of wingers, but have they got the quality in those areas where they like to play with those two wide players and they’ve missed Jota, there’s no question about that.”
There is so much to pore over for the Celtic fans I guess many of them just cannot believe how far this side who, just over six months ago, wrapped up a world record eighth domestic treble.

With Brendan Rodgers still demanding more quality even after the win over Feyenoord, it is evident that major surgery is required on this Celtic team in January and well into next summer.
Next up for Celtic is an away tie to Livingston where they traditionally find it a struggle to get anything, especially on that playing surface.
It is likely that is likely to be another game to watch through the fingers and don’t even mention the upcoming visit of Rangers.
