‘They are very important’… Kenny Dalglish names three players who will be ‘vital’ in helping Celtic win the title
Celtic’s lead at the top of the table took a huge dent yesterday after the 1-1 draw with Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
Brendan Rodgers‘ side comes under more pressure now because with a game in hand, Rangers could take the top spot for the first time this season should they win it.
With another tough away trip to Easter Road where Nick Montgomery’s Hibs await, Celtic must take all three points to ensure the wheels don’t come completely off their defence of the Scottish Premiership title.
But to do that, former Celtic hero, Kenny Dalglish, believes Brendan Rodgers will need to rely on three players he believes will be crucial in Celtic’s title defence.
Dalglish said [The Sunday Post print edition ] , “I still think they have enough quality players to make it three in a row. I’d rather be in Celtic’s position just now than Rangers’.
“It doesn’t need to be all doom and gloom and negativity.
“When you have players such as Callum McGregor, Kyogo and Matt O’Riley, there’s plenty to smile about.
“They are very important. Look at the contribution they made in the 2-1 win against Rangers at Parkhead a few weeks ago. They were superb and they will be vital in the next four months.”
All three players played in Celtic’s 1-1 draw with Aberdeen yesterday and all of them had virtually no impact in the game as the Hopps dropped more points.

Admittedly, it is highly unusual for the trio to underperform in the same game but the Celtic support will hoping that all three players will help to ensure the points are taken from the capital on Wednesday night.
With 14 games to go in the Scottish Premiership there a still plenty to play for but one thing is for sure. Celtic will need to win them all if they have designs on winning the title this season.
So it’s time for Kyogo, McGregor and O’Riley to step up and do what they do best. Take control of games and show exactly why Celtic are the champions.
