‘They are mad’… Gary Neville says there’s only two players in Tottenham team with any composure

Tottenham battled their way to another win last night as they beat Nottingham Forest, despite Yves Bissouma being sent off.

Once again, Tottenham’s lack of discipline threatened to cost them against Forest and Bissouma will now miss the next four games after seeing red for the second time this term.

For Spurs, it’s becoming a bit of an issue. With players already out through injury, Ange Postecoglou can ill-afford to be losing players to suspension as well. The likes of Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie have already gone down that route, and Bissouma has followed again.

And speaking about Tottenham’s apparent lack of control in situations, Gary Neville told Sky Sports last night that he feels there’s only two players in the entire XI who seem to have any sort of composure about themselves.

“The one thing he has got to control is a discipline problem. They make some really reckless challenges. They are mad at times on the pitch and they don’t need to be. There are only a couple of players in the team who have real composure. That’s Ben Davies and Son. The others all have a bit in them where you think what are you doing?,” Neville .

Ange must get on top of Tottenham discipline issues

It’s not necessarily that Spurs’ players are going out to hurt people or even that they are a malicious group.

The big issue is that they are losing players in key moments and over the course of a season, it’s going to end up costing them in terms of results.

Bissouma’s red last night was another silly one really. Yes, another split second and he might have got to the ball. But ultimately, he’s dangling his leg at a dangerous height and then giving officials a decision to make.

Gary Neville is right here on Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou simply has to get on top of this. It’s going to cost his team dearly and Bissouma is now effectively missing for months, given he’s going to the AFCON in January as well.
