There’s a ‘deal there to be done’ involving Chelsea and £60m player on deadline day

It wouldn’t be a transfer deadline day if there wasn’t some movement at Chelsea.

The Blues are always busy towards the end🐼 of a transfer window, and there’s already been some news coming out of Stamford Bridge today.

Indeed, Ben Chilwell is set for Crystal Palace, while Axel Disasi could join Tottenham.

As for incomings, it’s been a quiet window for Chelsea, but they have had some targe🐟ts in mind throughou⭕t this window.

Alejandro Garnacho has been linked to Chelsea this month, while Kobbie Mainoo has also been a Chelsea target in this window.

Speaking on the London is Blue Podcast, Ben Jacobs has been🎃 discussing Chelsea’s interest in Garnacho, and he says that there’s still a deal there to be donಞe if Chelsea do go in for the winger late in the day.

Chelsea deal for Garnacho there to be done

Jacobs sharඣed what he knows about Garnacho and Chelsea.

The journalist couldn’t confirm whether or not Chelsea will go back in for Garnacho, but if they were to look into Garnacho 💧again, there would be an avenue to getting this done.

“Perhaps there is a simple solution for Christopher𒁏 Nkunku. Go off to Manchester United. And then we obviously at this point go through the hypo𝓰thetical permutations of, do Chelsea want Garnacho?

“Are they going to bid late for Garnacho? If they do, there’s probably a dea🅰l there to be done. If they don’t come in for Garnacho, I think and Nkunku as a standalone deal becomes a bit less likely because I think that Chelsea would want some kind of option, obligation at a number that Manchester United can’t meet.

“And personally, I don’t think just a loan and Nkunku to Manchester United in the current state of where the squad is in their form. And then if he’s b🦹anging in goals and it’s only temporary and coming back, everybody’s kind of going to probably turn around, certainly within the fan base and say, if it’s not permanent, why just allow that✱ loan to be sanctioned? Because he’s still squad depth and he’s still the second top goal scorer at the club.

“So I think it will all hinge upon this. Do you man you want to go big if they miss out on tell, which is currently the expectation, isn’t Nkunku a late window solution that can be viable because the ℱballpark valuations of and Nkunku and Alejandro Garnacho are the same. And then it comes back to Chelsea again.

“Do they want to bid? Because we’ve heard a lot of reports in the last week that Chelsea have bid for Alejandro Garnacho. It’s not my understanding at the time we are recording this. No formal bid has been 🃏placed for Garnacho. Will that change? That’s the thing we have to wait and sꦿee.”

Transfers between Chelsea and Manchester United

Chelsea cou🍨ld look to bring Garnacho in on deadline day, but there’s reason for the Blueas to be careful on this one.

Indeed, while it’s always nice to pinch a player from one of your biggest rivals within the Premier League, i🌱t’s fair to say that Chelsea’s past signings from Manchester United haven’t exactly been incredible.

Manchester United players who’ve joined Chelsea
Jadon Sancho
Juan Sebastian Veron
Mark Hughes
Mark Bosnich

Jadon Sancho has improved at Chelsea, but he’s still🀅 not setting the world alight, while Juan Sebastian Veron was a bit of a flop at both Old Trafford and Stamford B𝔍ridge, while Mark Bosnich was also a bit of a disaster for both clubs.

As for United signing players from Chelsea, it’s a♌ similar story.

Chelsea players to sign for Manchester United
Mason Mount
Juan Mata
Nemanja Matic

Juan Mata never hit the same hei🍸ghts in Manchester as he did in London, while Mason Mount has really struggled over the past 18 mont🦹hs.

Neman🦩ja Matic was solid for both clubs, but he was, by som꧋e distance, better with Chelsea than he was with United.

For one reason or another, players who cross this particular divide seem to struggle, and Chelsea may want to consider that before moving for Gar🌺nacho, particularly as he’s valued at .
