‘Their best player’… Pundit says Chelsea have a player who’s been better than both Sterling and Palmer

Chelsea aren’t where they want to be in the Premier League, but they’re undoubtedly showing signs of life recently.

Indeed, the Blues have just picked up two very good results against both Tottenham and Manchester City, and things finally look to be clicking at Stamford Bridge.

Raheem Sterling has found form as of late, while Cole Palmer already looks every bit a player.

However, according to Clinton Morrison, speaking on , the Blues have another player who is outshining everyone else.

Indeed, Morrison says that Thiago Silva remains Chelsea’s best player, claiming that he’s been brilliant at the heart of that defence.

Silva has been Chelsea’s best player

Morrison gave his verdict on the centre-half.

“Chelsea can go on a run, Chelsea excite me, you just mentioned Nkunku he’s a hell of a signing. When he starts playing, Sterling has been outstanding, I can’t understand for the life of me why he’s not in the England squad, maybe I’ll give Gareth Southgate a call. They look good and their best player still has probably been Thiago Silva, he’s been brilliant at the back,” Morrison said.

Incredible

What Silva has been doing this season has been nothing short of incredible.

The Brazilian is 39 years old now, and he’s still one of the very best defenders in the Premier League.

Yes, he may not be as quick as he once was, but he’s a real leader at the back and he reads the game brilliantly.

Somehow, despite joining at an advanced age and enduring such a period of turmoil at Stamford Bridge, Silva is well on his way to cementing his status as a Chelsea legend, and we wouldn’t be shocked if he was still performing at this level into his early 40s.
