The wages Victor Osimhen is demanding from Chelsea if he is to sign for them

Chelsea have been locked in a striker battle on transfer deadline day with Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen looking like the two options.

Enzo Maresca has been blessed with plenty of backing from Todd Boehly as he looks to build a side that can get the Blues back to where they belong.

The likes of Pedro Neto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Joao Felix are just a few of the big names that the London club have managed to capture so far.

Nicolas Jackson is a player who’s rather impressed up top against Wolves with a goal and an assist, but it appears as if the Blues hierarchy aren’t too confident in him as they appear to be seeking a striker.

Interestingly, it looked like Osimhen was set for a move to Saudi Arabia, but now, a move to Chelsea could be in the works in the final hours.

And, there’s still the slim possibility that Ivan Toney could become available as Al-Ahli can’t sign both Osimhen and the Brentford striker, so it’s either one or the other.

Still, updates are coming thick and fast, and Kaveh Solhekol has just dropped a big one live on Sky…

Victor Osimhen makes demand to Boehly and Chelsea

It’s kind of a win-win for Chelsea if they get either Toney or Osimhen as they’re both top players.

However, there’s definitely a concern over the wages for the pair with Saudi Arabia in the question, with both players no doubt having high expectations after seeing what they’re offering in the Middle East.

Interestingly, that appears to be the case as Victor Osimhen has now made a demand to Chelsea in the final hours of the window.

reporter Kaveh Solhekol stated this outside Stamford Bridge.

“Chelsea have been pushing very hard to get him. I think the stumbling block has been the wages. We know that Osimhen has this incredible offer from Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, 650,000 per week and no tax.

“There’s no way that Chelsea can get anywhere near to that figure. I think Osimhen has recognised that.

“I’ve been told that Osimhen has been asking for something around £300,000 a week to move to Chelsea.”

Is Victor Osimhen worth the £300,000 per week demand?

Raheem Sterling‘s exit could be the difference between Chelsea signing Victor Osimhen or not.

The winger is currently the highest paid player at Stamford Bridge on £325,000, despite not being a part of Enzo Maresca’s plans.

If the Blues can offload Sterling before the deadline or at least get another club to cover some of his wages then Todd Boehly may be able to stretch that little bit extra when it comes to offering a bigger wage packet to Osimhen.

However, it must be difficult for Boehly as he doesn’t want to keep falling into the trap of offering these massive wages to new signings, as players now know what they can demand from the Blues.
