£26m player confirms he could leave Tottenham this summer with talks underway

One of Tottenham Hotspur’s players has now confirmed talks are underway with another club with his future in serious doubt.

Ange Postecoglou‘s summer transfer window got underway a couple of weeks ago when Tottenham confirmed the loan signing of Timo Werner.

But there have not been any permanent signings just yet with a focus on outgoings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Daniel Levy has taken some considerable losses over recent weeks when it comes to offloading some of Tottenham’s players.

The biggest has been Tanguy Ndombele who saw his contract terminated five years on from becoming the club’s record transfer.

But it now seems as if some money could be coming into the club soon with talks underway to sign one specific player.

Tottenham player admits talks are underway for his sale

Despite making a solid start to offloading Postecoglou’s unwanted players, there is still considerable work to be done in north London.

Players like Emerson Royal and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg still remain at the club with the latter expected to be moved on after the Euros.

But Emerson is currently relaxing back in his homeland of Brazil having now been called up to their squad for this summer’s Copa America.

Already this week, there has been suggestions that a move to AC Milan for Emerson Royal may take place later in the window with their attention currently on bolstering the attack.

However, speaking to Brazilian YouTuber , the 25-year-old has provided a very honest insight as to where his future lies.

“The truth is that I still don’t have anything defined. Obviously to know that Milan is in conversation with the club [Spurs], they are looking for information on me,” Emerson said.

“For me it is very gratifying because Milan is a team known for having Brazilian players, right. We know there have been some great Brazilians to have played for them. Let’s wait and see what’s going to happen.”

Emerson Royal open to new opportunities

Throughout the comments made by the defender who Tottenham signed from Barcelona for , it seems apparent he is interested in the appeal of joining Milan.

Given the stern competition from Pedro Porro at right-back, Emerson really struggled to nail down any real positive impression under Postecoglou last season.

The Brazilian did make 11 starts in the league last term, but the majority of those were earned through injuries to the starting defenders.

But this marks just another example of Tottenham being open to potentially taking a loss on a signing from just a few years ago as they look to move on and bolster their squad for next season.
