The signing Newcastle United are almost guaranteed to make in the summer

Newcastle have been dormant in the transfer window in recent times.

Indeed, despite being the richest club in the world, the Magpies have barely made any signings over the past 12 months.

Discounting the PSR drama surrounding Odysseas Vlachodimos, Newcastle only made one senior first-team signing in the summer in the shape of Lloyd Kelly, and Kelly has already jetted off to Juventus.

Newcastle tried to sign Marc Guehi in the summer, but that deal didn’t come off in the end.

After 12 months of keeping their powder dry, Newcastle could be in for a busy summer transfer window, and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on Market Madness, there’s one signing that Newcastle are almost guaranteed to make this summer.

Newcastle will go for a new right winger

According to Jacobs, Newcastle are almost guaranteed to go for a new right winger in the summer transfer window.

The journalist is so confident of this transfer happening that he advised listeners to put their mortgages on a deal going through for a right winger, claiming that Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga remains a target.

Newcastle bid for Elanga last summer, but made little headway.

“Will Newcastle sign a right-winger this summer,” Jacobs was asked.

“Absolutely put your mortgage on it. They’ve got to replace Miguel Almiron and amongst others, they still like Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga,” Jacobs said.

Elanga compared to Tyler Dibling and Bryan Mbeumo

Newcastle will likely be signing a new right winger in the summer transfer window, and they could bring in a player from one of their Premier League rivals.

As Jacobs says, Elanga is an option for Eddie Howe’s side.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have been linked with Tyler Dibling recently, while Bryan Mbeumo is on Newcastle’s radar too.

Looking at the stats, it’s clear which player Newcastle should be going for of these three.

Mbeumo is the standout candidate here for Newcastle, and he could be just what the doctor ordered for the Magpies.

Mbeumo suits Eddie Howe’s system to a tee, and he could be the perfect signing for Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

Who Newcastle end up going for remains to be seen, but Mbeumo looks to be the ideal profile of player for the Tyneside outfit.
