‘The real deal’: Some Celtic fans hail 22-year-old’s display v Ferencvaros

A number of Celtic fans have waxed lyrical about David Turnbull following his impressive Europa League display on Thursday night.

The Bhoys ran out 3-2 winners at Ferencvaros in a dramatic game which saw the visitors strengthen their hopes of reaching the knockout stages.

Kyogo Furuhashi opened the scoring for Celtic on three minutes, collecting Liel Abada’s pass, feigning a shot and slotting home with his left foot.

Celtic conceded eight minutes later as they lost possession in a dangerous area, which culminated in a cross hitting the sliding Josip Juranovic for an own goal.

However, the Hoops soon regained their lead through a 20-yard effort from Jota which went in off the post via a slight deflection.

And on the hour mark, Ange Postecoglou’s charges made it three with a superb team goal which Abada duly slotted home into the corner.

Celtic were made to sweat late on as Myrto Uzuni brought his side back to within a goal in the 86th minute, but the visitors hung on for all three points.
