The problem Liverpool have with the Martin Zubimendi deal now
Martin Zubimendi to Liverpool is the deal that is on everyone’s mind at the moment as Liverpool look to make the first signing of the Arne Slot era.
The Reds are apparentl🐽൲y in advanced discussions to sign Zubimendi f♏rom Real Soci🐎edad, but, as ever, these moves aren’t as simple as many would hope.
Indeed, signing a player like Zubimendi isn’t 🌱a straightforward process, and according to Duncan Castles, speaking on , ﷽there is a complication in this deal.

Martin Zubimendi to Liverpool complication
According to Castles, this deal is complicated due to𒊎 the fact Real Sociedad can ask for th🔜e €60m (£52m) fee up front.
“Liverpool are in advanced discussions at the moment with Real Sociedad to sign Martin Zubim🍸e🧸ndi. He has a €60m release clause.
“Sociedad are trying to convince Zubimendi to remain, they ♏don’t like losing their elite Basque players, and they feel there is a high chance that Mikel 🌟Merino will move to Arsenal this summer.
“The complication in that deal🤡 is that Real Sociedad can insist that the €60m is paid in one go, which is something that Liverpool usually try to avoid doing.”
Liverpool have the cash to sign Martin Zubimendi
This is a lot of money to outlay in one go, but Liverpool should have the cash to get this deal done.
The Reds haven’t spent a penny yet during this transfer window, while they should still have a fair bit of cash leftover after failing with their £111m bid for Moisꦬes Caicedo last summer.
This deal is expeꦯnsive, but by no 🅷means is it impossible.
If Liverpool are serious about signing 💮Zubimendi, they need to cough up the cash.
Real Sociedad will not be kee𒈔n 𝕴to sell the Spaniard, and Liverpool may need to dig deep into their cash reserves if they do want to get this deal over the line.
With just three weeks left of the transfer window, the Reds need to make some sort of progre🤡ss on this de💮al soon.
