Emiliano Buendia has excited Aston Villa fans by suggesting that he might just be back for their Premier League opener.
Buendia’s ready
There were fears that Buendia was set to miss the start of the season with injury.
However, the Villa new boy tweeted that he was ‘ready’ last night – ahead of Dean Smith’s side kicking off the season.
And the tweet was quickly pounced on by plenty of Villa fans.
Huge boost
With Jack Grealish no longer at Villa, it would be a major boost if Buendia was fit to feature.
Smith’s side will be depending on him to provide the creative spark that they are missing now that Grealish has gone.
Buendia has enjoyed an impressive pre-season at Villa, when he has featured, and there is real feeling that he could make a huge impact in the Midlands.
Villa kick their campaign off against newly promoted Watford at Vicarage Road, in a game which they are favourites to win.
