‘The nearest thing’: Tim Sherwood says ‘special’ striker Tottenham want is the closest he’s seen to Alan Shearer

Sherwood spoke highly of the ‘‘ Tottenham target.
ဣ“Evan is more of a Shearer-type player. He’s probably the nearest thing I’ve seen growing up to him. He played in the League of Ireland at 15, in the men’s environment, he has that pedigree,” Sherwood said.

Comparisons don’t come much bigger than this.
𒁃Alan Shearer is the greatest goalscorer the Premier League has ever seen, and if Ferguson can grow to become even half as good as the Newcastle legend, he will be a superstar.
🐟Of course, whether or not Ferguson can ultimately live up to that billing remains to be seen. He’s a quality player for sure, but he still has plenty to prove at the top level, and, at the moment, he’s struggling to even get into the Brighton team.
