The ‘latest information’ Kaveh Solhekol is being told about Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling and Arsenal
Arsenal appear to be the main characters in one of the summer transfer window’s biggest deadline day sagas as Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling continues to be linked.
The Gunners have already welcomed Mikel Merino to the club but likely won’t see him for a good while as he’s suffered an injury in training.
Merino’s injury has left Paul Merson gutted as he was a player he was personally looking forward to seeing.
There is still time in the transfer window for the Gunners to make a move but it seems unlikely now that they’ll look to bring in a new central midfielder.
However, one player who has been on Arsenal’s radar is Raheem Sterling.
And, there’s been an update from Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol that will be of interest to both Chelsea and Arsenal fans…

Big Raheem Sterling update involving Arsenal from Kaveh Solhekol
So, it looks as if Arsenal are finally listening to Ian Wright’s call for a back-up to Bukayo Saka.
The Englishman played an awful lot of games last season and looks set to do so once again this season with very little cover in Mikel Arteta‘s squad.
Arsenal fans will no doubt be keen to see whether their side bring in a winger before the window, and Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol may just have the answers.
When speaking live from Stamford Bridge on , he said this on Raheem Sterling.
“Chelsea have been trying to find a new club for him, but the latest information I have is it’s a real possibility that Raheem Sterling stays at Chelsea.
“I know there was talk of him possibly going to Arsenal. I think that would be a move that would appeal to him because they are a model club, they are in the Champions League, they are challenging for titles.
“But the information coming out of Arsenal from our reporter Gary Cotterill there, he was pouring a little bit of cold water on whether that move could happen.
“So there is a real possibility that Raheem Sterling could stay at Chelsea. Remember he has still got three years left on his contract, so if the move is not right, he will not be moving anywhere.”
What does Mikel Arteta think of Raheem Sterling?
Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the midfielder. The pair worked together at Manchester City in what were some of the Englishman’s most successful seasons as a player.
Interestingly, it has been claimed that Arteta has had a phone call with Raheem Sterling on Thursday evening in order to discuss the a potential move to Arsenal.
So, it seems as if it’s a deal that could be done with the pair big fans of each other.
However, if Kaveh Solhekol’s update is anything to go by then it looks as if he’s more likely to stay at this point, unless there’s some sort of agreement of wages and the structure of a deal.
