‘The jam in the middle’: Liverpool fans laud Fabinho after Crystal Palace win
Liverpool crept into the Champions League places on the final day of the season as Sadio Mane set them on their way to a win over Crystal Palace.
Anfield welcomed fans back for the season finale and they were rewarded with a home win which sealed the Reds’ place in the top four as Chelsea struggled at Aston Villa.
Liverpool’s end of season run has been an exceptional one and they deserve their top four place. Remarkably, it’s come in the season where Jurgen Klopp has had to make do with a number of central defensive pairings, in the absence of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Gini Wijnaldum played what was his last game in the Liverpool shirt, while a number of other players also put in fine performances on the day to help see off Palace.
But it was the performance of Fabinho which really stood out to some Liverpool fans, who used Twitter to sing his praises.
