The four players Arne Slot could offload before deadline day as Liverpool expect ‘transfer crescendo’

Liverpool could really come alive in the transfer window in August after adopting a measured approach earlier this summer.

Sporting Director Richard Hughes said at a press conference last month that a quiet July in the transfer market could be followed by a ‘crescendo’ in August. Now that we are well into the business end of the summer transfer window, Liverpool could attack the market in the way they deem fit.

New manager Arne Slot has had enough time to evaluate his squad and with Liverpool having returned home after a successful pre-season tour in the USA, the time is right for them to fine-tune their squad.

While it’s still rather quiet on the incomings front, a handful of players have been linked with potential departures and this could be key for Liverpool as they need space in the squad for new signings.

Fabio Carvalho among players who could leave Liverpool this summer

Slot is still trying to get to know his players better, but after over a month in charge of the club, he is likely to have made some first impressions at least. And now, a report from states that four Liverpool players could move on before the end of the month.

Fabio Carvalho, who has impressed in pre-season so far with two goals from three games, has emerged as a wanted man, with Leicester City and Southampton interested in securing his signature. Liverpool rejected a £15m bid from Southampton for Carvalho and are expecting a significantly better offer to part with him.

The same report states that Slot is under no pressure to sell the 21-year-old, who he believes is well-suited to playing multiple positions across the frontline.

Midfielder Bobby Clark is wanted on loan by Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg who are now managed by ex-Liverpool coach Pep Lijnders, while Sepp van den Berg and Ben Doak have attracted interest from several clubs.

What’s next for Liverpool as transfer deadline day edges closer?

Liverpool will stick to their guns in the transfer market and are unlikely to offload any of their players if their valuations are not met.

In terms of potential incomings, a report from states that Slot’s priority is to sign a number six, with Liverpool already identifying a target who plays outside the Premier League.

The player is yet to be named, but if the information is correct, then we can expect some news on the incomings front later this week.
