‘The fastest’… £22m Tottenham player hailed as the quickest in world football, he left defender baffled
Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son has been hailed as the fastest player in world football.
Indeed, speaking to , Luke O’Nien has had a go at building his perfect player made up of a number of attributes.
The Sunderland defender picked the likes of Kevin De Bruyne for passing and Lionel Messi for shooting, and when it came to pace, he chose the Tottenham man.
The Sunderland ace says that Son is ridiculously fast, stating that he has the fastest stepover he’s ever seen in his life, claiming that, to this day, he still has no idea how he got away from him so quickly.

Heung-Min Son the fastest in the world
O’Nien spoke about the South Korean.
‘Pace?’ O’Nien was asked.
“I’m going with Son. He had the fastest stepover I’ve ever seen in my life, I still have no idea where he’s gone,” O’Nien said.
Rapid
O’Nien isn’t wrong, Son is one of the fastest players on the planet.
Even at the age of 31 now, he leaves defenders for dead time and time again as he gets in behind to score.
In Ange Postecoglou’s system, Son is allowed to showcase his pace now more than ever, and, in all honesty, he looks like an absolute nightmare to defend against.
Luckily, O’Nien hasn’t had to play against Son all that often in his career so far, but most defenders in the Premier League have now had to put up with facing off against Son for the best part of 10 years now.
The Spurs attacker isn’t just quick, he’s also a dynamite finisher, and that’s what makes him one of the very best players in the Premier League.
