The decision Liverpool have now made about signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
TBR Football can reveal that Liverpool have decided that they will not be rivalling Paris Saint-Germain for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this month.
Liverpool were linked with Kvaratskhelia this week, but a deal in January is now seen as unlikely.
PSG are in for Kvaratskhelia, and Liverpool aren’t going to rival the French giants for the player’s signature.
PSG now have a clearer path to signing the Napoli star.
Jurgen Klopp was a fan of Kvaratskhelia during his time at Liverpool, but, unfortunately, it looks as though the Georgian won’t be Anfield bound this month as the Reds look to kick on and secure the Premier League title.

Liverpool’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia decision
TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, understands that Liverpool have decided to not rival PSG for Kvaratskhelia’s signature in January.
Kvaratskhelia is a player that Liverpool are huge admirers of and they have been kept informed about recent developments which have seen the French champions make their move for the Georgian.
As TBR Football previously revealed, Napoli have been trying to persuade Kvaratskhelia to sign a new deal with talks dating back more than 12-months – but he been resistant to their offers.
Now Napoli’s stance on his availability has softened and it is understood they are willing to accept €80mllion and PSG have opened talks.
PSG are also ready to offer players including the likes of Milan Skriniar and Goncalo Ramos.
Liverpool for their part had considered make their move, given Napoli were on of the clubs to show an interest on Federico Chiesa.
TBR Football can reveal that talks took place within Liverpool’s hierarchy, but they deemed a deal this month as not right for them as it stands.
Whilst things could change before the end of the month, we are told it is unlikely.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia compared to Liverpool attackers
Kvaratskhelia is an exciting player. In fact, Jamie Carragher once called him the most exciting player in Europe.
However, he won’t be headed to Liverpool this month, but the Reds should still have enough firepower to get over the line in the Premier League.
Indeed, Liverpool’s attackers’ stats are still good enough to take Liverpool to the title without Kvaratskhelia.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stats this season | Mohamed Salah stats this season | Luis Diaz stats this season | Cody Gakpo stats this season | Diogo Jota stats this season | Darwin Nunez stats this season | |
Games | 17 | 19 | 18 | 19 | 12 | 15 |
Goals | 5 | 18 | 8 | 6 | 4 | 2 |
Assists | 3 | 13 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 2 |
Kvaratskhelia would’ve brought something different to this Liverpool side, and he would certainly have been an interesting addition, but Liverpool should still have enough in the attack without a new big-name addition.
In fact, it’s very rare for a Premier League-winning team to make a big-money January signing.

Liverpool may not be all that busy in January, but that shouldn’t affect their title tilt.
PSG are now in the box seat to add Kvaratskhelia to their ranks, but, as ever, negotiating with Napoli’s Aurelio De Laurentis may be much easier said than done for Le Parisiens.
