The club Bournemouth sources think are the favourites to sign Dean Huijsen this summer out of Liverpool, Arsenal and Real Madrid
TBR Football can confirm that Dean Huijsen is likely to stay in the Premier League amid interest from Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.
The Bournemouth defender has made a tremendous name for himself since joining the Cherries from Juventus in the summer of 2024.
Huijsen’s performances have been so impressive that several top clubs in the country as well as abroad have shown interest in signing him.
TBR Football revealed Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea’s interest in Huijsen back in February, while Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Arsenal like him too.
Now, there is a positive update for one club.
Bournemouth sources think Liverpool are the ‘favourites’ to sign Dean Huijsen
Almost everything has been going to plan for Liverpool recently.
The Reds are all set to lift the Premier League title soon. That comes after Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk extended their contracts at the club.
It’s a great time to be a Liverpool fan right now, and things could get even better in their pursuit of Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen.
TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, has been told by his sources at Bournemouth that the defender is expected to stay in the Premier League.
The 20-year-old has interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle United among other clubs, but the feeling around the Vitality Stadium now is that Slot’s side are the ‘favourites’ for his signature.
Bailey said: “Having spoken to Bournemouth sources, they reiterated that they see him most likely staying in the Premier League and from what they believe, the favourites for him are Liverpool, not to discount Chelsea or even Arsenal or Newcastle, but Liverpool are pushing hard.
“However, Bournemouth make it clear – the decision is not with them, it is on Huijsen. Bournemouth do want this done quickly to help them progress with finding his replacement. Huijsen and his camp would like it, but they are waiting – they are assessing.
“In conversations I have had with clubs on the continent, I would not rule Real Madrid or Bayern Munich out of this hunt just yet.”

How much will Dean Huijsen cost Liverpool this summer?
Huijsen is one of the best young centre-backs in Europe, and more often than not, players like him will cost an absolute fortune.
However, the Spain international has a release clause in his contract.
TBR confirmed in February that Huijsen’s release clause is worth £55 million, which is a figure that shouldn’t be a problem to any of the big sides chasing him ahead of the summer transfer window.
Furthermore, Bournemouth have confirmed to TBR that they will not require Huijsen’s release clause to be paid in one lump sum. They will take instalments.
That makes it easier for Liverpool and other interested clubs to get him this summer.
