‘The Championship awaits’ – These Newcastle fans react to reports linking Quique Sanchez Flores with managerial vacancy
According to , Quique Sanchez Flores is amongst the candidates under consideration for the managerial vacancy at Newcastle United.
The Spanish coach is currently without a club having recently resigned from his position with Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua. This means that the Magpies would not have to pay any compensation to bring him to St James’ Park.
Flores has previous Premier League experience, too. The 54-year-old spent the 2015/16 season in charge of Watford. Despite leading the Hornets to a respectable league finish and the FA Cup semi-finals, that was his only campaign at Vicarage Road.
Flores may feel that he has unfinished business in England, which may attract him to Newcastle this summer. He is certainly a very capable manager who would get the Magpies well organised at the back and working well as a team.

Newcastle need to appoint a new head coach quickly. Following the recent exit of Rafa Benitez the club has been in a state of upheaval. Mike Ashley must bring in Benitez’s successor as soon as possible to ensure that calm is restored at the club before the start of the season.
The Telegraph state that Newcastle are yet to officially approach Flores. They’re also considering the likes of Laurent Blanc, Sean Dyche and Mikel Arteta for the role. However, time is running out and decisions need to be made quickly. Flores would be a wise candidate to pursue at this stage.
Following the emergence of the report linking the ex-Watford boss with the Newcastle hot seat, plenty of Magpies fans took to Twitter to share their views on the matter.
