Jamie Carragher has given his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur left-back Destiny Udogie.

So, what has Jamie Carragher said about Tottenham Hotspur left-back Destiny Udogie? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Tottenham Hotspur left-back Destiny Udogie

Well, Jamie Carragher has been raving about Tottenham Hotspur left-back Destiny Udogie on Sky Sports.

The former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit has included Udogie in his Premier League Team of the Season so far.

The pundit has also noted how good Pedro Porro has been at right-back for the North London club.

Carragher said about Porro and Udogie on : “Udogie, listen, I think he has been fantastic. I think the full-backs, Porro, I nearly put him in. He was close to coming in as well.

“I think he has been fantastic, and they have just been a huge influence on the Tottenham team. They have won a lot of games, but they have lost a lot of games at times this season, but they have been a brilliant watch.

“And I think it has been fascinating watching what Postecoglou has done with his full-backs. And also I think the left-backs of a lot of the other teams if you like, I don’t think anyone has really stood out, so for me, he has been the big stand-out.”

My View: Destiny Udogie is a gem

In my view, Destiny Udogie is a gem and I believe that Tottenham Hotspur are a better team with him in it.

Udogie is only 21 now, but the £15 million () star is playing with the maturity of someone who is in their mid-20s. Gabriel Agbonlahor believes that he is the best left-back in the Premier League.

Perhaps it is because this is now the third season in a row in which the Italy international left-back is playing regular first-team football.

The youngster has scored one goal and given two assists in 17 Premier League matches for Spurs so far this season.

Udogie made 31 starts and two substitute appearances in Serie A for Udinese last season. He scored three goals and gave four assists in those games.

In 2021-22, the left-back scored five goals and provided four assists in 29 starts and six substitute appearances in Serie A.
