‘The better he will get’: Graham Potter makes exciting prediction about Leeds player
Graham Potter has predicted that Daniel James will get better the longer he is at Leeds United and working with Marcelo Bielsa, .
Leeds face Brighton and Hove Albion at Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday.
The game will see Potter reunited with James. The Seagulls boss was in charge of Swansea during the season in which the winger nearly moved to Leeds on deadline day.
Of course, the Wales international has now joined the Whites via Manchester United. And it really does appear that Leeds are starting to see the best of the 24-year-old.
He made a quiet start to life with Bielsa’s men. The turning point perhaps came in the 1-0 win over Watford when he caused all sorts of problems and should have won a penalty.
He has since provided an assist in the win over Norwich in the penultimate game before the most recent international break.
And he followed that with his first goal for the club, getting on the end of Jack Harrison’s cross in the loss at Tottenham.
It would appear that his upturn in form would not have come as a surprise to Potter, who backed the wide-man to really kick on at Leeds.
“The one thing I know about Dan is he is an honest guy, he’ll try his absolute best and Marcelo and his staff will help him understand what he needs to do to fit in their team,” he said, . “The longer he is there, the better he will get.”

So James arrived under a lot of pressure.
He has been bright in the last few weeks. But given those circumstances surrounding his arrival, Leeds do need more from the wide-man.
That is even more important given the Whites’ struggles this term.
