The best and worst performers from Liverpool 4-1 Leicester City
An entertaining day of football ended with Roberto Firmino scoring his second and Liverpool’s fourth as Jurgen Klopp’s side convincingly beat Leicester City 4-1 at a new-look Anfield. As well as Firmino, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana scored either side of a Jamie Vardy tap-in for Leicester. The champions have now lost two of their first four fixtures, and face a battle already to close down the bigger teams at the top of the table.

Heroes:
Sadio Mane
Plenty of Liverpool players stood out, but once again Mane put in a performance to rival anyone in the Premier League. Pacey, precise and powerful, Mane was electric causing problems in the Leicester back-line wherever he went. The 24-year-old scored, and was at the heart of everything Klopp’s side did. His runs in behind were terrifying, even causing Kasper Schmeichel to make erratic decisions, resulting in him sprinting miles out of his goal in order to try and stop Mane running through.
Roberto Firmino
Scored two, and so needs a mention. The Brazilian seemed to be everywhere, and swapped sides with Mane frequently. His composure in-front of goal helps him dearly, while he always seemed to be an option for his fellow players. The combinations between him, Mane, Lallana and Daniel Sturridge at times was frightening.
Adam Lallana
Scored a beauty, and just seems to be getting better and better. The Englishman started slightly deeper in this game, but offered an option all the time. His touches in and around the box were a pleasure to watch, and his finish for his goal even allowed for Klopp to knock his glasses off, again.
Jamie Vardy
Credit to the Leicester striker. A 4-1 defeat but his attitude was there for all to see. Scored, and was a hand-full right to the last. He had plenty of opportunities and ran his socks off all game. With the Englishman playing like this, Leicester will remain a force.
