‘The best’, ‘Absolute legend’ – These Norwich fans react to Pukki’s heroics

Newly-promoted Norwich City earned their first win of the Premier League season with a 3-1 triumph over Newcastle United on Saturday. Daniel Farke’s side deserved their victory and produced a fine display against the Magpies at Carrow Road.

Having been thrashed 4-1 by Liverpool at Anfield in the opening match of the season, it was important that the Canaries bounced back this weekend to get their campaign up and running. They could have lost their confidence following that chastening defeat, but they showed no signs of that against Newcastle.

Norwich’s hero on the day was striker Teemu Pukki. The 29-year-old scored a hat-trick to secure the points for his side. The goals took his tally for the league season so far to four, with him having opened his account last week on Merseyside.

If Norwich are to stand any chance of survival this season then they will need the Finn to deliver. So far he certainly has done that. He was a talismanic figure for the club in the Championship last season. He bagged 29 goal in the second tier and also registered ten assists. He has managed to replicate that form in the top flight so far.

After the match, plenty of Norwich fans took to Twitter to applaud Pukki’s magnificent display.
