The Aston Villa player no one is talking about who can make big difference for Smith

Aston Villa have made a blistering start to the 2020/21 season.

The club are currently sitting second on the Premier League table after winning all three of their games with only Everton ahead of them.

The club narrowly exited the EFL Cup to Stoke City, but that has been the only blemish on an otherwise exciting start – with the highlight most definitely the 7-2 thrashing of Liverpool in the league.

Jack Grealish has been outstanding, and John McGinn very good, while Ollie Watkins, Matty Cash and Emi Martinez have all looked like great additions.

Smith’s starting XI is looking strong, but there’s one player who hasn’t really been mentioned too much so far.

Trezeguet has quietly made a strong start to the new season, when many expected him to drop out of the side following the arrival of Bertrand Traore.

But the Egyptian has looked sharp, and has provided a couple of assists already.

Potentially, he’s someone that could make a big impact this term when not many are really expecting him to.

TBR’s View – Trezeguet to step up for Villa?

With a year of Premier League football under his belt, there’s every chance Trezeguet can get to the next level in 2020/21.

The 44-cap Egypt international has made a promising start, and perhaps the presence of Traore can help push him to be better in order to keep his place.

Villa have made some great attacking additions in Traore, Watkins and Ross Barkley, but the tricky Trezeguet might well prove to be the surprise package this term.
