The impressive stat Ethan Nwaneri managed in the first-half v Brentford that no other Arsenal player could
Arsenal starlet Ethan Nwaneri could be in line for a big part for the Gunners in the coming weeks as Bukayo Saka remains out injured and Mikel Arteta looks for options up top.
Nwaneri is very much the new kid on the block at The Emirates but he was handed his first Premier League start against Brentford.
Nwaneri impressed against the Bees as well, with Mikel Arteta even saying Nwaneri would be playing even if Arsenal go and sign a player to replace Saka.
For Nwaneri, that trust from Mikel Arteta is going to be huge for his development and chances of playing.
However, it’s not just that trust from Arteta that’s helping. It’s his actual performance levels.
And against Brentford, the teenager actually managed to do something not a single other Arsenal player did in the opening 45 minutes.

Could Ethan Nwaneri replace Bukayo Saka at Arsenal?
Based on the performance he gave at Brentford, the answer to that question is a resounding yes.
Nwaneri might still be a young pup in football and has plenty to learn but he is playing with a maturity and level that suggests he’s been around for years.
