‘That’s us out’: Some Liverpool fans react to injury update ahead of Leicester

A number of Liverpool fans have bemoaned the latest injury update on Reds striker Divock Origi.

The 26-year-old may not be a regular starter for Jurgen Klopp but he continues to pop up with crucial contributions.

Origi has etched his name in Anfield folklore thanks to his goals in the Champions League in 2018-19.

And of course, there was that superb late winner against Everton in the league three years ago.

This season, Origi has one goal and one assist against AC Milan, plus the winner against Wolves in early December.

And in the Carabao Cup, the Belgian has two goals and one assist.

However, Origi hasn’t featured for Liverpool since getting the winner at the San Siro earlier this month.

And Liverpool assistant Pepijn Lijnders confirmed that Origi is not yet ready to return against Leicester.

He is still not training with the team so we will miss him,” he told the Reds .

Given how prolific Origi has been when called upon, some Liverpool fans were gutted about this update:

Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones are all still in isolation.

And as well as Origi, Nat Phillips and Harvey Elliott remain sidelined through injury.

In addition, Andrew Robertson is serving the first game of his three-match ban.
