‘That’s the player you want to be’: Trent Alexander-Arnold names the PL legend he wants to emulate

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has named Steven Gerrard as the one player he wants to emulate in the coming years.
The full-back is already one of the Premier League’s best players. He has been absolutely incredible since the start of this season, and the fact that he’s still only 23 means that he’ll only get better.
Gerrard is almost every Liverpool fan’s role model. He is the guy who made many of them believe, and Alexander-Arnold, even though he plays at right-back, wants to become as big a player as the legendary Englishman was back in the day.
Here’s what he said on the latest episode of Uncut on the .
Trent Alexander-Arnold: Liverpool legend Gerrard is my idol
The defender was asked a series of questions in the video. The host laid out a scenario where Alexander-Arnold is managing Liverpool on FIFA 22 career mode, the Reds are 2-1 down with 10 minutes to go, and the boss has to bring on one club legend to save the game.
Unsurprisingly, Trent chose Gerrard.
He said: “Gerrard, has to be Gerrard! You think of clutch moments for the club, the biggest stages, it has to be him.
“He was my idol growing up, that’s the player you want to be. I tried to copy his game and be like him as much as I could. I watched his games in and out for years and years, trying to emulate him.”

TBR View:
Alexander-Arnold and Gerrard aren’t really similar with the respect to their style and position, but if there’s one thing that the 23-year-old has picked up from his idol, it’s that range of passing.
Gerrard could find a teammate with his eyes closed and although Alexander-Arnold is not as good yet, he is magnificent in his own right. The youngster’s shooting from distance is comparable to Gerrard as well, but Trent will have to score a few more worldies before he reaches that level.
Liverpool fans absolutely love Gerrard and they adore Alexander Arnold as well. It won’t surprise anyone if he goes on to become the captain and eventually, a club legend.
