Celtic fans have responded with little enthusiasm to reports that Thierry Henry could be their next manager.

Speaking on the , the Arsenal legend said: “With all humility, whatever is going to come my way, I’m not saying that should come my way, but whatever comes my way I’m going to evaluate.

“I’m sure they’re going to work on what they’re going to work on. I don’t know what’s happening there, this is a club I respect a lot I’m sure like a lot of people in the world, but that I don’t know about.

“All I know is I want to coach and be back out there.”

That hasn’t been particularly well-received by the Celtic faithful.

He left MLS side Montreal Impact in February, the same month that saw Neil Lennon resign as Celtic boss.

The Frenchman’s first managerial role came as assistant to Roberto Martinez with Belgium, before becoming manager of Ligue 1 team Monaco in October 2018.

He was dismissed after just three months, with a record of four wins, five draws and 11 defeats from 20 matches.

The likes of Enzo MarescaEddie Howe and Rafael Benitez have been linked with the Celtic Park vacancy, and if the reaction on social media is a reliable gauge the only candidate less likely to gain their approval is Roy Keane.
