‘That’d be fantastic’: Pundit shares what he’s now hearing about Harry Kane’s Tottenham future

Darren Bent has revealed what he has heard about the future of Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane.
The Spurs striker was desperate to leave North London in the summer. A move to Manchester City even looked imminent at one point, but Daniel Levy blocked a transfer and Kane was forced to stay.
That decision has clearly impacted the Englishman’s performances this season. Kane scored just one goal in his first 13 Premier League appearances this term. That is a shocking return for any striker, let alone one of the best in the business over the last few years.
Kane’s form has improved massively and he has scored in each of his last three league games. Spurs fans are absolutely delighted with that and what Bent has now claimed will make them even happier.
Darren Bent: I’m hearing Harry Kane will stay at Tottenham and sign a new contract
He said on : “I heard – and I have to stress it was a rumour – but it’s that he’s potentially gonna stay and sign a new contract there.
“And you start thinking, ‘Well, what are Manchester City gonna do now? They’ve let Ferran Torres go and you think, ‘That’s a bit strange because they’ve not got no centre forwards now. Are they making room for Erling Haaland?
“And that’s potentially why he (Kane) could stay and sign a new contract? This is what I’m hearing, but as I said, I’m doing a full Alex Crook here with the rumour, the speculation.
“For Spurs fans, that’d be fantastic, but does that mean that maybe Manchester City are going down the younger route? Maybe a Haaland?”

TBR View:
Bent, who has played for Tottenham in the past, may still have a few close pals at the club who have given him this information. Or, it could just be something he heard off the rumour mill.
Either way, if Kane stays and signs a new deal, it would be outstanding for Spurs.
The Englishman is their talisman and if he’s firing, Spurs’ chances of winning games increase considerably. He was clearly not at his best at the start of the season, but it looks like he’s finding his feet under Antonio Conte now and that is a huge boost for Tottenham fans.
It will be interesting to see what will happen with Kane in the next two transfer windows. The Englishman will likely say yes to Manchester City if they come calling again, but if Daniel Levy can convince him to stay and extend his deal, it could well prove to be his best-ever move as Tottenham’s chairman.
