‘That was an exciting moment’: Jesse Marsch says he loved what he saw at Thorp Arch earlier this week

Jesse Marsch has provided an excited update on versatile Leeds United player Stuart Dallas, who is back in training at Thorp Arch.

“I also saw Stuart Dallas moving around on the pitch a little bit and that was an exciting moment for us.

“It is much too early to talk about a prognosis and a time-table for Stuart, but anyone of you who know Stuart know that his energy, positivity and personality is so amazing and the way he even applies that to his situation.

“He has still been a big presence in the team and been in every day and wants to be around the team as much as possible and still has a positive impact on the group.

“Because of those really good personality traits, it gives him a really good chance to come back as good as ever. That is what we are all pushing and hoping for.”

Marsch excited Dallas is back in training

Leeds were missing several members of the squad for last week’s win over Wolves, including Luis Sinisterrawho has really impressed him in trainingLiam Cooper and Adam Forshaw.

Marsch will enjoy having more options to choose from, although would have liked Dallas back sooner given first choice left-back Junior Firpo is also unavailable, with Pascal Struijk filling in at the moment.

Primarily a right-back, Dallas spent much of the last two seasons playing in midfield, although the signings of Tyler Adams and Marc Roca should allow him to spend more time playing in defence.

It would have been a frustrating summer for Dallas, after picking up a thigh injury in April and missing the whole of Leeds’ pre-season.

However, Marsch clearly holds him in very high regard, and appreciates his impact around the club on and off the pitch.

Leeds fans will be keen to find out when Dallas might be expected back out on the pitch, but Marsch won’t want a repeat of last season’s injury crisis at the club.

With the additional members of the squad he now has at his disposal this time around, a steady re-introduction makes much more sense.
